Taking Job Application Photos in Summer? How to Look Perfect Without Sweat or Shine ☀️
"Of all times, I have to take my job application photos in this heat..."
When you're preparing for a job search, timing isn't always on your side. Recruitment seasons and application deadlines don't care about the weather.
Honestly, here's what's most daunting about summer job application photos:
Arriving at the studio already sweating, foundation caking, and hair flattened by humidity.
So, today, I'm sharing essential tips for preparing for job application photos in the summer.
These tips are based on my 10 years of studio experience and validated by hundreds of clients. 💡

🌡️ The Real Reason Summer Job Application Photos Are Difficult
It's not just because it's "hot."
Summer's high temperatures and humidity ruin makeup's staying power,
and drastically increase sebum production. Even in the 10-20 minutes it takes to get to the studio, your face starts to get shiny,
and foundation mixes with oil, causing it to cake or crease.
And if your hair gets flattened by humidity? Often, your carefully styled hair is ruined before you even arrive at the studio.
To prevent this, you need to prepare in stages, from the day before the shoot to the commute on the day of.

#### 📅 The Day Before — Your Skin Condition Is Everything
The success of summer job application photos is actually determined the night before, not on the day of the shoot.
1. Avoid Excessive Skincare Applying thick nourishing creams or using too many oil-based products the night before
can increase sebum production the next day. In the summer, it's best to use light moisturizers and
finish your skincare routine cleanly before bed. Stick to your regular skincare routine, and avoid sheet masks or
highly nourishing masks, as they can increase oiliness.
2. Get Enough Sleep Lack of sleep makes your skin look dull and causes under-eye bags.
There's a limit to what makeup can cover, so getting a good night's sleep the night before is the best preparation.

💄 Makeup on the Day — Staying Power Is Key
For summer job application photos, "long-lasting" is more important than "pretty."
1. Primer Is Essential Use a primer before foundation to minimize pores and improve staying power.
Be sure to apply it carefully to the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) to control shine.
2. Apply Foundation Thinly, Multiple Times Applying a thick layer at once will cause it to break down with sweat.
Layering thinly multiple times to increase adhesion is much more effective. Use concealer only on areas that need extra coverage.
3. Setting Powder + Setting Spray Are a Must Carefully set your foundation with loose powder,
and then apply makeup setting spray to significantly improve staying power. The key is to lightly spray the fixer from 20-30cm away from your face.
4. Use Non-Smudging Lip Products Glossy lips are pretty in the summer, but they tend to smudge easily.
For job application photos, we recommend using a tint or matte lipstick as a base, and then lightly applying lip gloss on top.

🚇 Commuting to the Studio — This Time Is Crucial
No matter how well you prepare, it's useless if everything falls apart on the way to the studio.
1. Travel as Comfortably as Possible If possible, travel by taxi or in an air-conditioned environment rather than by subway or bus.
It's also a good idea to arrive at the studio 30 minutes to 1 hour before the shoot to give yourself time to adjust to the indoor temperature.
2. Keep Blotting Paper and Powder in Your Bag If you get shiny on the way, gently blot with blotting paper,
and then touch up with powder. Be sure to press and absorb, rather than rub, as rubbing can smudge your makeup.
3. Finish Your Hair at the Studio There's no avoiding your hair getting messed up on the way.
The smartest approach is to bring a small amount of styling product (wax, spray) and finish your hair in front of the mirror after arriving at the studio.

#### 📸 After Arriving at the Studio — Final Check
Once you arrive at the studio, don't go straight to the shooting area. Take 5-10 minutes to get yourself together.
- If your face is shiny, blot thoroughly with blotting paper
- Lightly touch up with powder, focusing on the T-zone
- Final hair styling
- Take deep breaths to relax (tension causes more sweat!)
