Have you ever thought this way while leaving the studio, or after downloading an AI ID photo?
After taking it, you often don't know what to look for, and you feel uneasy.
Today, based on 10 years of studio operation experience, I will organize a checklist of what to check immediately after receiving your ID photo.
"Can I submit this photo?" — I'll give you a clear answer to this one question.
✅ Passing Criteria — Everything is OK
① The face is located in the center of the screen
If it is too high, low, or skewed to one side, it may be rejected as non-standard.
② Eyes are clearly open
Check if both eyes are open evenly.
(However, if you only think about the eyes and they are not smiling, it may look awkward.)
③ The corners of the mouth are naturally raised
If it contains a "comfortable smiling feeling," it's a pass.
④ Hair does not cover the face
Especially in Japanese job hunting photos, the entire face must be clearly visible.
(If the photo taken for the ID photo is not neat, you should consider re-shooting.)
⑤ The background is uniform and clean
Shadows or stains are a no-go.
⑥ The neckline of the outfit looks neat
If one side is crooked or turned over, we recommend re-shooting.
❌ Failing Criteria — You have to re-shoot this
① Eyes are bloodshot or swollen
Drinking the day before, lack of sleep, and wearing lenses for a long time immediately show in the eyes.
② Skin is excessively white and washed out
Natural skin texture must be alive. (Excessive correction X)
③ Shadows appear on the face or background
Background shadows may be treated as non-standard.
(Depending on the lighting method, excessive shadows can make the photo look old.)
④ Shoulder and neck lines are tilted
Be sure to check if it is level.
⑤ The expression is too stiff
If your lips are tightly closed or there is too much force in your eyes, consider re-shooting.
