Hello, I'm a researcher from [Monkos.ai]! Today, I'm writing a blog post about ID photo makeup, a topic many people worry about and need information on!

01. Introduction — Taking an ID Photo Without Prep is a Missed Opportunity

An ID photo is your face representing you in a brief moment.

When you're about to get your photo taken, you often don't know what to do and end up searching on YouTube.

However, the methods are difficult, and often those on YouTube, while knowledgeable about makeup, don't have a deep understanding of photography, leading to incorrect information!

Based on my experience working as both a makeup artist and a photographer,

I'll share makeup tips to help you shine in your ID photo.

02. Base — Skin Expression is 70% of the Look

The key to a great ID photo is the skin.

Avoid excessive shine or heavy coverage under the flash and lighting, as they can be counterproductive.

A semi-matte finish is the answer. After using a primer to minimize pores,

apply foundation in thin layers.

Use concealer only on dark circles and blemishes as needed.

Tip: Apply setting powder mainly to the T-zone. Leave a slight glow on the cheeks and forehead to create dimension.

If you're not confident in your makeup skills, it's better to go for a natural look rather than using too much concealer.

03. Eye Makeup — Clear, Not Overdone

Draw a thin, clear line filling in between the eyelashes.

Smoky or thick eyeliner can make your eyes look smaller in the photo.

Use brown-toned eyeshadows to create natural depth.

The key is to comb through mascara to prevent clumping.

Applying mascara to the lower lashes can make it look less suitable for a job application photo, and clumping can make it look messy!

Tip: Eyebrows have the biggest impact on the overall impression of your face in an ID photo. A natural arched shape or a straight eyebrow with a slight angle is suitable for job application photos.

04. Lip & Cheek — Just Add a Touch of Color

Too much lip color can stand out too much in the photo.

A coral pink daily lip color is the most versatile and looks the prettiest.

For cheeks, just add a natural flush of color — lightly blend onto the apple of your cheeks.

**Tip: Avoid lip gloss.

It can make you look shiny in the photo.**

05. Final Tips — Pre-Shoot Checklist

Hair: Make sure your bangs don't cover your eyes.

Clothing: Wear light, solid colors (white, sky blue, and gray are recommended).

Expression: A natural smile with a slight upturn of the corners of your mouth.
